    Short pulse laser marking system

    Through adopting a new three-unit configuration with reduced fiber cable length, the LP-RV series with fiber oscillator unit has realized a short pulse with a pulse duration of 1ns and 20W. This will contribute to a great improvement of the impressive power and addresses the application requirements.

  • High marking flexibility

    To satisfy different selectable quality requirements and account for the material used, there are seven settings available for the marking speed and the pulse duration: 1ns, 4ns, 8ns, 16ns, 30ns, 120ns, 200ns. The short pulse laser can be used as an optimal laser marking system for workpieces where the thermal effect needs to be suppressed. Typical applications are the marking of ICs or thin metals or for high contrast marking on resin surfaces.

High pulse repetition rate

High pulse repetition rate

The LP-RV can generate a short pulse laser beam with a high repetition rate even if the scanning is performed at a higher speed. As a result, the laser marking or processing is possible without spaces between dots irradiated by the laser, as shown in the figure. This also shortens the laser marking or processing cycle time and improves the quality.

A short pulse laser prevents the heat from spreading during the laser radiation on a workpiece. Thus, it allows the marking of characters with much finer line segments. It is possible to mark characters as small as 0.15mm × 0.15mm. The marked characters are clearly visible and easy to read.

The thermal effect caused by the short pulse laser on the workpiece is small. The risk of burning, discoloration, or deformation due to heat is minimized. Therefore, the short pulse laser can be used as an optimal laser marker for workpieces where it is essential to suppress the thermal effect. Typical applications are the marking of ICs or thin metals or for high contrast marking on resin surfaces.

This configuration allows to separately install, remove or replace each of the three individual units in the case of mounting or maintenance. It also contributes to shorten potential downtimes.

Direct Linkage

The LP-RF series can be connected directly to an image processing device. This enables the execution of a series of operations, such as detection of the random workpiece position, correction of the laser marking position, and cross-checking of scanned information of marked Data Matrix Code (DMC), etc., without using a PLC.
