    For high-speed steel drills, black marking is best suited because only a burr-free marking can ensure a precise rotation of the drill without any deviations. Panasonic’s high-quality CO2 laser markers are designed for industrial applications subject to particularly high demands in terms of speed and functionality. When machining and labeling PET bottles, packaging bags or rubber seals, you will usually be dealing with high production line speeds. As used in the packaging industry, our Laser Marking Systems come equipped with an encoder interface. This makes it possible to perform marking on-the-fly at line speeds of up to 240 m/min. It is also possible to synchronize the marking and flying speed.

  • "On-the-fly" marking on PET bottles

    The packaging industry is characterized by high throughput rates and fast moved objects. With our on-the-fly function we can meet the requirements of these industries. Thanks to the laser marking technique, PET bottles get a contact-free marking without mechanical stress. Due to its somewhat shorter wavelength of 9.3 µm, the LP-400 series is ideal for marking clear plastics such as PET or PC.

    Packaging varies considerably in form and contains many different types of information which is difficult or uneconomical to print with standard printing methods.   • Cardboard packaging

    The pharmaceutical industry prescribes an outer packaging according to the UDI-GS1 standard (Unique Device Identification). During production, a colored layer is applied to the cardboard boxes, which can then be removed individually by a laser marking system. The important point is that the laser has to execute the removing operation in such a high speed that the speed of the packing machine need not be reduced. Such applications typically are realized in on-the-fly mode.

Our established custom solutions also include LTF-C- technology (Laser Transfer Film Contrast), which emerged from a collaborative project we carried out with tesa to develop permanent glass marking solutions.   • Kiss cutting

    The marking of films and labels predominantly comes into play if no direct marking on workpieces is possible. Typical multilayer films are marked by a laser and finally cut with the laser; this is called "kiss cutting". With this kiss-cut method the carrier film remains intact.

  • Laser marking on aluminum electrodes

    This metal oxide varistor has a high energy absorption capacity and is therefore used as a surge protector in the medium and high voltage technology. Its black body consists of electroceramic material. The front electrodes which are to be marked consist of evaporated aluminum. The thickness of the layer is between 70 and 100µm. The challenge was to choose the laser parameters in such a way that the material abrasion is less than 40µm on the one hand and that a high-contrast marking is achieved on the other hand. Another challenge is to not damage the black main body by the laser radiation. In collaboration with our client we have been able to reach this goal after extensive preliminary examinations and analysis.

  • Mechanical locking system with laser engraving

    The company Aug. Winkhaus GmbH & Co. KG attaches great importance to the quality of its products. To achieve a unique identification, the company marks its locking systems with a Laser Marker from Panasonic. The selective removal of material from the product surface by laser radiation creates a permanent and high-contrast laser engraving.
